Finding balance can so challenging, especially in the busy world we live in..

Everyone is always go go go.. we need to make enough money, make healthy choices, be a good parent, make sure our house is clean, feed our kids healthy meals, keep up with laundry, go to work every day, have a social life, make time for our significant other, do fun things with our kids, and the list goes on... It can be super overwhelming.. How on earth is one to juggle all of this plus take the time for self care and just have a minute to ourselves?!

It is crucial for our mental, and physical health that we find the time for ourselves..

It can be very hard to find any spare time but, one trick to this is changing your mindset.. for me instead of constantly ragging on the fact that I am so busy I started to think how lucky I am to get to do these things.. example; I am so lucky my family has clean clothes to wear, I am so lucky that i get to cook this healthy and yummy meal for my family.. I am so lucky I get to go to a job that I love, that is really fulfilling and also usually pretty fun. Just this simple way of changing the way I thought seemed to make time open for me.. I'm not going to lie, I get up at 5 am every day so that I know I have the morning to myself, time for a workout, for meditation, journalling or whatever feels right, 5 am for some, might sound ridiculous.. maybe you're the opposite of me and prefer to stay up a little later to get the evening to yourself.. find what works for you, once you make the time for yourself you will feel a huge shift in your reality.

I started saying No to things that don't serve me or that I just don't have the time for..

Until very recently I had a problem with saying yes to everything.. I would lose sleep at night thinking about all the commitments I've made to make other people happy, when it wasnt at all how I wanted to spend my time.. Learning to use healthy No's is so beneficial.. dissclaimer; there are people who aren't going to like it when you start saying NO, stand your ground, and let them know your reasoning. If they truly care about you, they will understand.. The ones who don't probably weren't good for you anyways.. If you're a people pleaser like me, at first this will be uncomfortable but once you realize the discomfort only lasts a minute vs days or weeks of anxiety its all worth it..

Organize your surroundings...

Many of us have heard "organize your surroundings and your life will follow"

I can confirm that this saying has alot of truth to it.. Every now and then I like to take a weekend to clean, organize and declutter my home.. When this is done the weeks following weeks go much smoother.. It is partially becuase I am no longer running back and forth the minute I get home from work to clean small messes that seemed so much bigger because I was already unhappy with the organization of my home... Instead things are in thier place and any mess my kids or husband have created seem like much less of a big deal.. You naturally are more able to relax and enjoy being home when you're happy with the way it feels giving you the illusion of more time..

Find activities that make you feel good...

Spending time even if its just a little time doing something that recharges your mental battery will make a wolrd of differnece.. I, for instance I started this blog as a creative outlet/hobby, I am loving writting and building my page.. posting to my social media about it ( @myhealthymomera ) , taking photos, and writting down my ideas.. Its given me a sense of accomplishment and pride in myself. I also love planning date days with each of my kids, or a date night with my husband when we get the chance.. one on one time with each of them makes my heart happy no matter if its something big or as small as going for a walk around town. I also love my workouts and healthy cooking- these are my hobbies and they are what makes me feel good.. I need to have time in my life for these things.. I have been in a position where I didn't have the time for any of it. I can tell you I was so unhappy.. Having random outbursts of anger and frustration. I felt I was on the edge of a mental breakdown at all times, and possibly slipping into depression.. not good.. Making the time for myself ,and the things I love has chnaged my life.. I am happy, feeling fulfilled and I'm proud of myself for how far I've come.

So as I said, finding the time isn't easy at first, but please try.. it's wild how much better life is when you find balance and prioritize yourself.
