How I lost 5 inches off my belly in under 3 months!!

Most of us want to lose belly fat and for a long time I struggled, here's what I did differnetly to help me drop 5 inches in under 3 months!


Losing belly fat can be super frustrating. I only finally seen a real change when I changed my lifestyle and got consistent! Consistency is key, be boring, go to bed at the same time, wake up and move your body, drink water, eat what you love but do it in a healthy way. Moderation don't tell yourself you cant have something, enjoy food but use it as a tool to fuel your body!


Tip #1 - Diet or lack there of..


I am not doing any specific diet.. I am eating with intention, to fuel my body. Hit your protein goals, eat plenty of veggies. Have carbs but don't over do it. Try to get in 30gs of protein at each meal. This will help you to maintain lean muscle mass while losing weight. Still enjoy your favourite foods but in moderation.



Tip #2 - Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate


All day every day, drink water! Drinking water all day long helps to curve hunger causing less mindless snacking. Your body functions so much better when you're properly hydrated. Your digestive track works better, it boosts metabolism and if your constantly sipping on water you will have less cravings which leads to a natural calorie reduction.


Tip #3 - Exercise


No, you don't have to exercise to lose weight but it does help. Excersie leads to more caloires burned. Lifting weights leads to lean muscle mass which helps your body to burn more calories naturally and causes you to look leaner and more "toned". Cardio is great for your heart and lungs while also burning off excess calories. You dont need to go crazy. If you can run a marathon thats bad ass, I personally can't. I however love to walk, get in at least 10,000 steps a day, it's pretty easy to accomplish this and has a major effect of your health. Mental and physical. Walking also helps to lower cortisol and stress hormone that causes the body to hang onto stubborn fat.


Tip #4 - Cut the alcohol


For me getting sober chnaged everything!! I have so much more energy, my workouts are better, I sleep better, I dont binge eat junk food. Seriously life changing! Cutting out alchohal is huge as it's so full of empty calories! I estimate that by cutting the booze myself I save around 1500 calories a week! That's a full day of eating!! Crazy!! Alcohol is poison and when you consume it your body needs to metabolize it, which means it cannot metabolize fat. So when your drink your body cannot burn fat for up to 36 hours!! Thats crazy and super not worth it! The hangover day is also brutal on calories as many of us crave greasy junk food after a night of drinking. This all adds up and takes away the progress you worked on all week.


Tip #5 - Intermittent Fasting


I wrote a whole blog page on this topic and heres why.. Intermittent fasting works. I don't care what anyone says as I've seen the results multiple times. I recently started fasting again and finally hit my goal weight and dropped those last couple of inches. I prefer the 16:8 method and always break a fast with a high protein meal that includes alot of veggies like a salad with chicken or shrimp, or a smoothie bowl with Arbonne protein powder, spinach, kale, pineapple, banana and chia seeds. Implementing these lifestyle habits will not only help you to drop weight but you will feel great! I am not starving, I'm satisfied and full over energy! I hope these tips help you on your journey too!
